Food is health. Food is medicine.

Food is a human right.

DC Greens advances health equity by building a just and resilient food system. Founded in 2009, we are a multiracial organization that focuses on creating cross-sector collaborations, advancing equitable, city-wide policy solutions, and working in solidarity with marginalized communities experiencing poverty and food insecurity.

Our vision is a capital city in which health equity is a central value, healthy food is a human right, and all residents have the resources to shape and control policies and programs for their own communities.

Our Work

The 2023 Ward 7 & 8 Resource Guide is now available.

At DC Greens, we’re committed to finding pathways to advance health equity in our nation’s capital. Our work is multifaceted, focusing on direct service programs, policy and advocacy initiatives, and serving as host for critical connections across the health equity community. In our 2023 Ward 7 & 8 Resource Guide, we’ve included key information about the organizations providing vital services to the community – and how to contact them. Our goal is that with every page turn, you can access the programs and services you need, whenever you need them.
